Odessa Blackmore (born Oakland, CA) is a New Orleans based painter. She graduated from San Francisco State University in 2019 with a BA in Studio Arts, Painting & Drawing. Taking photographs of her surroundings daily to reference for her work. She is inspired especially by American car culture, signage, satire, mythology, surrealism, and folk art. She creates paintings of imaginary landscapes full of cars, advertisements, and wild flowers. Her work aims to depict the beauty and tragedy of the USA, using dark humor and memento mori.
