Matt Ryalls (he/him) is a visual artist and fashion academic based in the UK. His work is situated at the intersection of sub/fashion/queer culture, exploring masculinities, queer representation, censorship and internalised shame. His practice focuses on DIY modes of communication in print and digital spaces, and the interplay between visual communication and anthropology. He pays particular attention to the lifecycles of marginal culture and what is lost during the transition to becoming mainstream; he primarily works with collage and zines.
