Invisible Presence | Group Show

Invisible Presence & Niagara Detroit Pop-Up

Mortal Machine Gallery is proud to present two exhibitions opening simultaneously on March 20th, activating both of our gallery spaces on Royal Street in the French Quarter.

The evening will feature the opening of our new group exhibition Invisible Presence at 940 Royal Street, alongside a special Niagara Detroit Pop-Up Show at 938 Royal Street. The dual opening will run from 7–10 PM, with artists present for the reception.

Visitors are invited to experience both exhibitions throughout the evening.

Invisible Presence

Opening at 940 Royal Street

Invisible Presence brings together three artists whose work explores geometry, symbolism, consciousness, and the unseen structures that shape our experience of the world.

The exhibition features works by:

Daniel Martin Diaz
Michele Melcher
Rachael Bridge

These artists share an interest in the intersection of science, spirituality, mathematics, and visual language. Their work often references sacred geometry, cosmology, human consciousness, and metaphysical systems of understanding.

The exhibition examines how invisible forces such as energy, memory, mathematics, and spirit can be translated into visual form.

The show will also debut new sculptural works by Ross Takahashi, presented in Showroom 2, expanding the exhibition into three-dimensional space.

Niagara Detroit Pop-Up

Opening at 938 Royal Street

In conjunction with Invisible Presence, Mortal Machine will also host a special Niagara Detroit Pop-Up Show at our neighboring gallery space at 938 Royal Street.

Niagara is widely recognized as one of the most iconic figures to emerge from the Detroit art and music scene. Known both for her work as the frontwoman of the influential punk band Destroy All Monsters and for her striking paintings, Niagara has spent decades developing a visual style that blends pop art, noir cinema, and underground culture.

Her paintings often depict mysterious and powerful female figures who are stylized, glamorous, and emotionally charged, accompanied by cryptic text that suggests fragments of narrative or dialogue.

Niagara’s work carries the atmosphere of a lost film still: dramatic, seductive, and psychologically charged.
