Saturated color, and imagery that hovers between classical and surreal depictions of animal, botanical and human forms; my paintings lean hard into the interior emotional and psychological landscapes that make up the self. Duality is an important feature in my art and I’m very much interested in subtext and striking a visual balance of dynamic energy and resonating stillness. Animal world narratives help to create new metaphors; and point to the connection of all living things; shadow and felicity are at constant play within my work and I try to maintain a tender balance between the two.
