Josh Rowan is a multidisciplinary artist based in St Louis, Missouri. His work explores an imaginal landscape where modern cultural commentary arrives via fantastical, graphic imagery. Rowan builds narratives driven on mythologies, religion and existential dread, rendered in bright color, highlighting an inherent darkness underlying nature and the natural order. With a self-taught background as a tattooer, illustrator and designer he has worked to augment the world such as Harry Potter and Voltron; his paintings explore new and personal landscapes and realms.
