Kamila Majcher

Kamila Majcher is a Polish contemporary artist and the founder of Very Ugly Plates, a Berlin-based porcelain studio established in 2018. Working at the intersection of fine art, craft, and humor, she transforms vintage and contemporary porcelain into thought-provoking objects that challenge traditional ideas of beauty, taste, and collecting.

Majcher's practice draws inspiration from art history, popular culture, kitsch, and everyday life. By combining historical imagery with contemporary texts and unexpected visual narratives, she creates works that are both playful and unsettling, inviting viewers to question social norms, nostalgia, and the value we assign to objects.

Her work has been featured in publications including VOGUE Germany, and has been exhibited in galleries, museums, and design events across Europe. Each piece reflects her fascination with the dialogue between the past and the present, where centuries-old craftsmanship meets contemporary storytelling.

Currently based in Berlin, Kamila Majcher continues to develop new bodies of work that explore the relationship between history, material culture, and modern identity through porcelain, installation, and mixed media.
