Kristin Liu-Wong is a Los Angeles-based artist and illustrator who was originally born in San Francisco, California. She studied at Pratt Institute where she graduated with a BFA in Illustration. Her artwork is known for fusing psychedelic colors with provocative scenes that she describes as a "bacchanalia of modern life," and she's gained recognition for her maximalist portraits.
Her artistic influences include American folk art, Japanese woodblock prints, Chinese pottery, Nickelodeon cartoons, the Surrealist movement, and architecture. She often takes everyday occurrences from her life and transforms them through what has been described as "nightmares and crude humor," creating work with a personal yet slightly sinister narrative.
