Mortal Machine Gallery is pleased to present INCENDIARIES, a new group exhibition curated by Burn Barrel Press, opening Friday, September 4th from 7–10 PM at 940 Royal Street in New Orleans.

Bringing together fifteen artists from across contemporary art, photography, illustration, underground publishing, street culture, and independent creative communities. The exhibition embraces the raw, the handmade, the confrontational, the humorous, and the deeply personal, bringing together artists connected by an independent spirit rather than a single medium or aesthetic.

Curated by Burn Barrel Press, the exhibition reflects the DIY energy and artist driven culture at the heart of the press and Mortal Machine Gallery alike. Burn Barrel Press will also use the opening night to premiere a brand new zine, adding an edition based publishing component to the exhibition.

Several participating artists will be in attendance for the opening reception, making September 4th an opportunity to experience the exhibition alongside the artists and community that helped bring it together.

INCENDIARIES continues Mortal Machine Gallery’s commitment to creating space for artists operating both inside and outside traditional contemporary art channels, bringing established voices, underground figures, and independent makers together under one roof in the heart of the French Quarter.
